Ayurkarma project is intended at providing Ayurveda Panchakarma and allied therapies through Government Ayurveda Dispensaries of ISM department in rural areas. A pilot project with the same name was proposed in the SAAP 2018-19 and got approved. This is operational since 26-02-2019, at Government Ayurveda Dispensary (GAD), Chavara. The same was also approved in the SAAP of 2019-20 and 2020-21. Chavara is a rural Grama Panchayath in Kollam district, having an approximate population of 56,000.  Grama Panchayat supports the dispensary with various funds for purchase of medicines and infrastructure development.

Highlight of Ayurkarma is the provision of additional technical hands in proposed centres to perform the Ayurveda therapeutic procedures for the identified cases. All procedures are done at OP level. The add-on Panchakarma procedures with the existing treatment protocols offer a remarkable improvement in quality of life (QoL) of patients.
