The word pakshaghtham means weakness of one side of the body or hemiplegia. Hemiplegia is the commonest manifestation of a stroke with neurological deficit affecting the face, limbs and trunk on one side or other side of the body. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in India.

Ayurvedic treatment modalities including panchakarma therapies  are found to be effective in the management of hemiplegia. In the project, patients who are suffering from hemiplegia with symptoms like paralysis, spasticity of muscles, trouble walking, poor balance etc are selected and ayurveda treatment has been provided which includes both OPD and IP level management with panchakarma therapies with allied procedures.
