Vayo amrutham project is implemented jointly by the department of Indian Systems of Medicine and Social Justice department for the treatment of inmates belonging to all the Government Old Age Homes functioning under Social Justice department. The inmates are benefited with the services of a Medical Officer and an Attender.

Objectives

• Provide Ayurveda treatment to all inmates in old age home
• Enhance physical and mental health of inmates
• Provide instructions on food, recreation, personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness

Activities

• Provide Ayurveda medicine for inmates who is suffering from health problems
• Medical officer visit inmates daily to check their health status
• Prescribed medicines are distributed to the inmates by the attendant
• Kriyakarmas like abhyngam, lepanam,pichu, thalam, nasyam, and thailadhara for the inmates according to their medical condition
• Provide instructions on food,recreation and personal hygiene
• Palliative care for bedridden inmates
• Cousenlling for inmates who is suffering from mental illness
• Awarnesss classes for inmates and staffs
