Govt / Aided Ayurveda Colleges of the State

Interns of Government / Aided Ayurveda Colleges of the State are permitted to undergo training for a maximum period of 1 month in the rural dispensaries / hospitals under the department and 15 days at Government Ayurveda Research Institute for Mental Health and Hygiene, Kottakkal, Malappuram (GARIM). Interns of these colleges have to apply to the Director, department of ISM through the Principals of the colleges.

Self-financing Ayurveda Colleges of the State

Interns of self-financing colleges of the State are permitted to undergo training for a maximum period of 2 months in the rural dispensaries / hospitals under the department. Interns of these colleges have to apply to the concerned District Medical Officers through the Principals of the colleges.

Ayurveda Colleges outside the State

Director, Department of ISM is permitted by the Government of Kerala vide GO (Rt) No. 230 / 2022 / AYUSH dated 26-05-2022 to allow BAMS students of Kerala origin but hail from the Universities outside Kerala to do their internship in Government Ayurveda Hospitals / Dispensaries upto 31 03 2023, subject to the following conditions:

  • Only a maximum of 100 students will be permitted to do internship in Government Ayurveda Hospitals and Dispensaries.

  • The Director of Indian Systems of Medicine should convey ‘no objection’ in admitting them for internship in the hospitals / dispensaries concerned.

  • A fee of INR 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) per month will be levied from them. The amount can be remitted in the Head of Account ’0210-02-800-other receipts'

  • No stipend will be paid

  • Only those students from the colleges affiliated to the recognized Universities will be allowed to undergo the internship training in Ayurveda Hospitals / Dispensaries in the state.

  • The applicant should submit all relevant certificates in original with self-attested copies before the Director, Department of ISM for verification as and when required.

    • Xth certificate / Certificate to prove the nativity of the applicant

    • All mark lists of BAMS

    • NOC from the college

  • After obtaining the sanction from the Director, ISM, the candidate may obtain NOC from the University from which they have completed the course.

  • Provisional registration is to be made at Kerala State Medical Council.

  • On producing all the above documents (Provisional registration Certificate from Kerala Medical Council and NOC from the University along with the previous documents), permissions will be granted for pursuing the internship at the institutions under the department for a maximum period of 5 ½ months (The duration may change as per the directions of the National Council for Indian Systems of Medicine (NCISM) from time to time).
