Under the mission of Digital India initiative, National Informatics Centre [NIC] regulated by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has designed and developed the NextGen eHospital application. NIC launched the NextGen eHospital project envisioning a transformative healthcare service delivery to citizens nationwide. The NextGen eHospital application is a cloud based Hospital Management Information System to digitalise internal workflows and processes in hospital and thereby enhancing efficient patient care. It is an one-stop answer which aids in linking patients, hospitals and doctors on a unified digital platform. The NextGen eHospital application is a web enabled, workflow based solution currently deployed across 1575 hospitals countrywide.

ISM department has adopted NextGen E-Hospital as HMIS in both hospitals and dispensaries. Currently this cloud based web application is operational in 186 institutions of ISM department, and a phased rollout is underway to extend the application to all institutions in near future.
