National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH)
Govt. of Kerala has launched a state level accreditation program, Kerala Accreditation Standards for Hospitals. Kerala is the first and only state in India to introduce state level accreditation programme for Health care organisation. Kerala Accreditation Standards for Hospitals is prepared based on the NABH and Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS). The major emphasis of KASH programme is on sensitization of health care organisations towards importance of quality health care services, involvement of staff for improving the quality of patient services, development review and implementation of policies and procedures for implementation of quality management. Presently, we have 3 KASH level institutions. Efforts are underway to upgrade more institutions to KASH standards. Details of our current institutions are given below. Govt. Ayurveda Dispensary, Chembilode, Kannur
Govt Ayurveda Dispensary, Chembilode is one among the first KASH accredited AYUSH dispensaries in Kerala. The work for KASH accreditation was started in continuation with ISO certification of the dispensary in February 2019. The KASH accreditation certificate was issued by the Government on 24-09-2021 and is valid from 15-06-2021 to 14-06-2026.
Through KASH accreditation overall facilities and performance of the institution improved and became more patient-friendly. Patient waiting area is provided with television and music system, token system, feeding area for lactating mothers, wheel chair facility, filter for drinking water, display boards, arrangement and dispensing of medicines as per standards, equipment for patient examination, proper arrangements and maintenance of files and registers etc. are some examples.
